Germain’s Luau, Our first Luau! photos and video

My boyfriend and I listened to a time share in Waikiki the other day and we scored two free tickets (normally $72 each!) to Germaine’s Luau on Oahu in Hawaii and boy was it the most wonderful time ….  They call it “Hawaii’s Original Too Good To Miss Luau!”  They also gave us tickets for 4 free bar drinks each.  We had a COUPLE Mai Tais and a Germaine’s Special Blue Hawaii and a big Lava Flow, yummy!

So here we are , our Luau guide was named Ki’i (pronounced kee ee) she was allot of fun and really made you feel like family. Everyone here calls everyone family, auntie, uncle, etc because Hawaii truly has the Aloha spirit.

December, 2009

These are photos from the Hawaii “City Of Lights” held every year for the past 25 years.  It’s an all day and into the night party with lights, ginormous decorations, floats, fake snow being blown onto everyone from behind the snow man and woman, a huge Shaka Santa and Santa’s Wife, giant trees, . . whew, too much to mention, just come down and see it for yourself!

I walked down because it is less than a mile from my apartment and there is not much chance of getting a parking space unless you have a

Koi (pronounced koy) or more specifically nishikigoi literally means “brocaded carp".
Koi are ornamental varieties of the common carp that were domesticated and bred starting in the 1820s and are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor ponds and water gardens. They are also sometimes called Japanese carp.

Koi can be very expensive, some special Koi can be well into the thousands of dollars.

Koi are very popular in Japan because they are a symbol of love and friendship.

Although a variety of colors and color patterns have since been developed; the most common colors include white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream. The most popular category of koi is the Gosanke, which is made up of the Kohaku, Taisho Sanshoku, and Showa Sanshoku varieties.

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway.

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii’s way
To say “Merry Christmas to you.”

Feral Cats and Mongoose in Mall Parking Lot of Pearl City Hawaii

I guess the island has quite a problem with feral cats.We went to Pearl city mall one day and when looking for a parking spot i saw more cats in one area than i have ever seen in my life.

It turns out there is also a big problem with Mongooses in Hawaii,. they were brought here to eat the rats but now there is an over abundance of them. Weird thing is they will lay with the cats.
