You couldn’t be more wrong. Connie has famously never had a singing lesson, hardly the actions of a pushy parent wanting to use her daughter. It was Connie who wanted to go on the show, all she wanted to do was sing in front of Simon. Connies parents are guilty of nothing more than supporting their daughter in what she wanted to do.

Firstly, she’s six years old and shouldn’t be singing about something so mature, and the meanings of which she wouldn’t understand. I’ll admit when she’s older she’ll have an amahzing voice (more so than now), but for now I think she should stick to singing about being over the rainbow.

However, it happens that this song was taught to her by her late grandmother. Because of this, she sings this song in her memory. There is proof in the full version of this song. Connie says at the very end, “That song’s for you, Nan [Grandma]!”
